VT-DAY 2026 – from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM – Digital Automation Lab, Via Sicilia 21, Reggio Emilia (Italy)
Artificial Intelligence is reshaping the way agricultural technologies are designed, managed, and used. To explore the opportunities, practical applications, and regulatory challenges associated with this transformation, the IDEAgri Network is organizing VT-DAY 2026, a full-day event dedicated to digital innovation in agriculture.
The event will bring together companies, research centers, developers, and industry professionals to discuss the growing role of AI, data management, and interoperability in agricultural processes through industry testimonials, real-world use cases, and field demonstrations.
Following the opening remarks by the IDEAgri Network, the program will begin with an update on the evolution of smart sensors one year after their introduction, presented by Nicola Baldo (Spray Logics). This will be followed by a presentation from Luca Roffia (Vaimee) on the potential of digital twins developed without the direct use of physical sensors.
One of the key topics of the day will be the interoperability of agricultural systems. Andrew Olliver (AG-IN – AEF) will introduce the concept of AgriCULTURAL Interoperability and the role of a common connector in enabling communication between machines, software solutions, and digital platforms.
Special attention will also be given to regulatory aspects. Alessio Bolognesi (FederUnacoma) will discuss the relationship between the Machinery Regulation and the AI Act, highlighting how recent legislative developments are helping to establish a clearer framework for the development and deployment of artificial intelligence in agricultural machinery.
Data management will be another major focus of the event. Raffaele Giaffreda (FBK) will present the opportunities offered by the Common European Data Space for data sharing and the development of AI applications in agriculture, while Gino Mainardi (COBO Group) will explore how data can generate value by transforming collected information into actionable knowledge for operators and decision-makers.
Practical applications of artificial intelligence will be showcased through real-world case studies. Claudio Modenese (Caffini) will present computer vision solutions for sustainable crop treatments using intelligent sprayers. Francesco Pagani (Argo Tractors) will share the experience behind UltraPilot, an automatic guidance system developed based on direct user feedback, and introduce an AI-based digital agent designed to support maintenance activities. The technical session will conclude with Alfonso De Girolamo (xFarm Technologies), who will provide an overview of emerging AI applications designed to support farmers in their daily operations.
The morning session will end with a Q&A session followed by a networking lunch featuring technology demonstrations.
In the afternoon, participants will have the opportunity to experience innovation in action during field demonstrations hosted at the COBO Academy in Cadelbosco di Sopra (Reggio Emilia). This hands-on session is designed to encourage direct interaction between companies, technicians, and end users.
VT-DAY continues to be a key event for anyone interested in understanding how data, artificial intelligence, and interoperability are contributing to a more efficient, sustainable, and connected agricultural sector.
